Knowing where your food comes from is important, and this is no exception. Few people actually know how baby carrots are made and where they come from.

Baby carrots were invented in 1986.  A farmer realized he was throwing away too many carrots that didn’t grow long enough.  What did he do?  He took all of his deformed or ill looking carrots, peeled them, and shaved them down to a small size and called them baby carrots.

However, baby carrots are not just cleaned and packaged.  They are given a chlorine bath because so many germs get on the equipment that shave and cut them.

Eating any type of food that is doused in chemicals is not a good idea despite tasting the same as regular carrots, and eating carrots is very good for you!
