Valentine’s Day 2015, a single dad decided to celebrate by taking his six-year-old daughter out to dinner. While they were enjoying their daddy-daughter date at Old Spaghetti Factory, the unnamed father was handed a note scribbled on the back of their receipt.
A couple at nearby table had been watching him and his little girl and wanted to share a random act of kindness.
The doting dad read the receipt and started tearing up right at the table.
After the unexpected happened that night, he posted a photo on Imgur titled, “I wish I could thank them.”

While enjoying their pasta and salad and coloring at the table, the daddy-daughter duo had no idea they were being watched by a couple was spying on them at a nearby table.
The couple was also preparing to write them a personal note.
When they finished their meal, Dad went to pay — but the server handed him a receipt with a note scribbled on the back.

Sorry to spy, but my husband and I saw you out with your little date and were so impressed with what a great Dad you are.
From two adults who grew up without dads, it’s so important to have a male role model at a young age.

Dad posted a photo of the incredible note on Imgur and included the following caption:
