Monday, August 21, 2017, millions of people were staring up at the sky trying to catch a glimpse of the solar eclipse. A total solar eclipse covered a narrow portion of the United States from Salem, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina, while a partial one was visible across the entire continent of North America, as well as in parts of South America, Africa, and Europe. This was the first time since 1918 when North America experienced the path of totality from coast to coast. This awe-inspiring moment was captured in amazing the photos below.
