Valerie, a sweet 6-year-old girl, had “an accident” at school. Her dad, Ben Sowards, came to the rescue to dry her tears.
When Ben’s wife called to tell him about Valerie’s accident, she told Ben that Valerie was in the school office crying and wanted to go home. “My heart kind of just broke,” recalled Ben.
Ben immediately went to the school to pick up his crying baby girl. But not before doing this…
Ben splashed water on his pants before heading to the school. Ben quietly stepped into the office and asked Valerie if he could use her backpack to cover up his “accident.”
“She looked at me with just the biggest incredulity,” he said.
But her surprise turned to laughter, and she threw her arms around Dad, her hero. “She was laughing about it,” he said. “It was so funny.”
Ben clearly has a lot of experience with brightening the lives of children since he and his family are advocates for foster children. Even though he’s already a dad of 7, he and his wife are in the process of adopting 4 more children!
Ben’s 17-year-old daughter, Lucinda (oldest of the 11 kids), tweeted about the “accident,” and her tweet has since gone viral!
My little sis had an accident today at kindergarten & this is how my dad left to pick her up so she wouldn’t feel so sad/embarrassed 😂😂❤️ pic.twitter.com/veHMFO4QHr

What an amazing, kind-hearted Dad who went above-and-beyond to make his little girl feel loved.
