Omid Asadi is an artist originally from Iran. He began his active interest in art as a child when he began drawing on flowers, which would later inspire him to begin using nature in his art. Asadi has had his work on display in exhibits in London and Manchester, England as well as Milan, Italy. His technique starts with him sketching the outline he is going to create for each particular leaf, and then he begins carving the outline into the leaf by hand with a knife.

1. Scarecrow
Asadi creates an entire landscape on one leaf as the scarecrow disintegrates into the valley behind him, and birds fly into the horizon.
2. Faces of the Wind
This piece makes the face in this image almost look like it is staring through a window to watch the birds take flight from the tree.
3. Raking Leaves
The white sections on the back of this man almost appear to be the wind blowing the leaves off the ground as he rakes. Asadi has an amazing ability to capture nature in all of his pieces with optical illusions.
4. Leopard Print
Asadi magically transforms this autumn leaf into a beautiful leopard design thanks to its vibrant shade of orange.
5. Dancing in the Wind
Looking at how Asadi carved arms and legs into the tiny little people floating away with the wind is astonishing. The placement of each little person almost makes you see the wind carry these little folks into the air.
6. Fleeting Butterflies
If the gorgeous details of the butterfly on the edge of this leaf is not enough to impress you, the flurry of tiny ones behind it should.
7. Time Goes By
As this clock breaks away, it is as if this piece is trying to remind us all that no matter what we’re doing, time is always turning and falling away.
8. Reflection
The delicate portrait of the little boy within this piece is given wonderful definition through the outline of his face.
9. Light and Shadows
Asadi creates an intense level of detail with this piece. It is like he is trying to create the circulatory system of the person in the piece rather than make a portrait of them.
10. Carriage
Asadi truly brings this piece to life with his ability to give everything and everyone in his art a life of their own.
11. Sparks Fly
All the people inside the mind almost look like his brain cells working together to build an idea in his head.
12. Peace of Mind
This piece acts like it’s symbolizing the idea that the spirit of peace cannot be contained because it is bigger than any one person.
13. Charles Darwin
Asadi captured Darwin’s beard and all in this piece that encompasses the evolutionary scale at the same time.
14. Every Garden Needs A Rose
All of the beautiful shades of primary colors illuminate the rose at the center of this piece as it branches out towards the audience.
15. Wild Horses
The piece wonderfully embodies the comforting sentiment that some spirits are just not meant to be tamed.
16. Forest Fairy
This little vixen almost looks like Tinkerbell with butterfly wings that are glowing thanks to the changing colors of this leaf.
