No one would dare call the work of Lebanese artist Samer Khouzami simply an exercise in applying make-up. His work is far more meaningful than that. Samer engages in a creative process, similar to plastic surgery but without the use of a scalpel, which completely transforms his models into someone almost unrecognisable. He reminds us that cosmetics can be a way of hiding the real you just as much as they can be used to enhance your appearance.
