When wedding photographer Katie Byram met up with John Taylor and his fiancée Lisa to discuss their vision for their September 2015 wedding, the groom-to-be mentioned that he wanted to do a “comedy shoot” with his best man, Andy Pemberton, as they got ready for the big day.
Byram thought little of this until she arrived at the hotel room where the men were getting ready. According to Byram via an email to Distractify, John opened the door in just his bathrobe and said “Hello, Katie, we’ve been expecting you.”
Then the greatest bromantic photo shoot of all time commenced.
“The whole shoot was led by them,” Byram said. “I normally take photos of guys putting on their ties and button holes but they wanted something a lot less traditional and a lot more fun.”
Andy and John have been friends since 2003, and became close five years ago when they ended up living in the same area. “We instantly took up from where we left off, grafted back together with our mutual idiocy,” Taylor said. Even after the two each found the women that would become their wives, they maintained their close friendship.
“I think my wife knows that he comes as part of the package,” John said.
Byram said that when she went to take the usual pictures of the bride getting ready, she had a hard time keeping it together. “I tried not to let slip about about the photographs so it could be a surprise for after the wedding,” she said. But the bride-to-be knew her husband too well. “Was there nudity?” she asked Byram.
The shenanigans continued during the wedding itself.
In case you were wondering, the photos of John and Lisa turned out beautifully as well.
Lisa loved the bromantic photos, and a few even made it in the official wedding album.
Congratulations and a lifetime of happiness to these three!
