Sometimes, the simplest things can also be the most beautiful, like the movement of waves on a beach during sunset or the branches of a tree gently swaying in the breeze. The world is a beautiful place, and we don’t often take as much time as we should to appreciate the simple things. Take this demonstration of pendulum waves, for instance: you wouldn’t expect it, but it’s actually totally mesmerizing.
This demonstration comes to you from Harvard University. It uses 15 pendulums of increasing length to demonstrate the full cycle of their movement. One cycle of the patterns takes 60 seconds to complete. Watch the beauty of physics in motion above.
