Sophia Petikas loves to dance. When she was younger, she was diagnosed with scoliosis and got her groove on despite needing to wear a brace 23 hours a day. Two years ago the pain in her back got worse, and a tumor on her spine was discovered. This is a tough thing to find out for anyone but for someone as young as Sophia, that could be devastating.
Nothing could stop this brave girl though, and when she finished her last day of the cutting edge proton therapy at St. Jude’s, the first thing she wanted to do was bust a move. What she wasn’t expecting was to have some company in her victory dance. This should be a standard practice in hospitals.
