Kindergarten Teacher Reconnects With Former Students After 30 Years

Like so many teachers, Lorly Schik had a desire to make a real change in the budding lives of her students. Her passion is what led her to a long and prosperous career as an elementary school teacher. She began her career in the 1940s, and over the years, she managed to touch the lives of every one of her students with her kindness, compassion, and the kind of caring personality that is only found in the greatest of educators.

Mrs. Schik impacted the lives of hundreds of local students for over 40 years. Upon her retirement in 1989, her memory was flooded with the faces, smiles – and sometimes tears – of every person who had the privilege of entering her classroom.
