Anyone who knows anything about the Sikh religion knows it is completely against strict protocol to remove one’s turban. However, when a young boy was hit by a car, and his head was bleeding, Harman Singh did just that.
Singh removed his turban without regard to any religious issues and applied it to the boy’s head while waiting for emergency crews to arrive.
The boy survived, and his mother feels that without Singh removing his turban, her son may not have made it.
Says Harman: “I wasn’t thinking about the turban. I just thought ‘He needs something on his head because he’s bleeding.’”
When it’s one’s religion, it IS a big deal. Not everyone would have done what Singh did.
