A banker has given up her £60,000 a year job – to become a professional sex toy tester.
Cara Douglas, 37, from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, said she became so bored of her job that she quit starting reviewing vibrators, lubricants and other sexual aids for a living.
The mother-of-two said she is now earning £30,000 a year from her new career – and even tests out her toys with her IT consultant fiancé Darren.
She claims to have 20 orgasms a week thanks to the haul of 3,000 sex aids which she has been testing at home, before reviewing them on her erotic blog.

Cara said that she much prefers her new job, despite earning less money than when she was a wealth management expert. ‘I am earning half what I was in banking but I am having twice as much fun,’ she said.
‘I hated being a banker and now I get paid for doing something I feel really passionate about.
‘I have always loved sex toys so I am very lucky to have made a career out of what was my hobby having 20 orgasms a week reviewing toys.’
She added: ‘I often have to review couples’ toys with Darren. Obviously, that is fun to do but you have to maintain your professionalism and work out what aspects of the product work well and what don’t.

‘Overall I would say that my job enhances our sex life. Sex is like a muscle – the more you use it, the more active it is.’
Cara says that other mothers on the school run know what she does for a living – and some even ask her for her tips on how to spice up their sex lives.
She said: ‘Most of the mums have their own sex toys anyway. They are so popular these days, particularly since the explosion of interest sparked by Fifty Shades of Grey.
‘Suddenly everyone was using sex toys and realizing they are a great way to enhance your sex life. I even bought a vibrator for my mother-in-law. She was very grateful.’

Cara started as a reviewer for online sex toy retailer Lovehoney after having her first child.
She later set up her own blog, called the Cara Sutra, and quickly became one of the best-known reviewers in the industry.
She reviews toys for Lovehoney and then earns a percentage for any sales made from her blog.
Explaining her decision to quit her bank job, Cara said: ‘I had been working in wealth management at a bank in Jersey and my career was going really well.
‘But the job wasn’t compatible with family life and I knew I had to make a change when I became pregnant with my first child.’
She continued: ‘I had always had a higher than average sex drive and a natural curiosity to experiment.

‘I had loved using sex toys and lots more opportunities came up due to the growth in online retail. I was then lucky enough to win an award and my name became well known for honest reviews.
‘Lovehoney knows that I am always going to be completely honest about its products. If a toy gives me lots of orgasms then it will probably get ten out of ten, but if it is a dud I have to let my readers know.’
Cara has completed hundreds of reviews for online retailer Lovehoney, which is celebrating the 200,000th review on its website this month.
She said: ‘It is the biggest database of sex toys reviews in the world. People only tend to buy toys once someone has reviewed them – so that information is vital when picking the best toy to suit you as a couple.’
The mother-of-two added that she was lucky that she has a supportive fiance when it comes to her unusual career choice.
‘I am lucky that I have a partner who shares my interest in toys,’ Cara said.
‘We work well together and can provide a male and female perspective on a product’s merits. I am very lucky to get paid to do a job that I love.
