Marine Gains Full Custody Of Young Daughter

As a Marine, I was stationed in Iraq for much of the mid-2000’s. I spent 2007 in Fallujah, Iraq – one of the worst places you could be in at the time. About 7 months into my 12-month tour my then-wife confessed to cheating on me after I caught her in a series of lies. It was a miserable time for me; I was emotionally devastated. I couldn’t function at all. Fortunately, my R&R was only a couple weeks away.

When I landed in my hometown to spend my two weeks’ worth of R&R, she was there with our daughter who was 3-years-old at the time. They were way down at the other end of the airport, but my beautiful daughter SPRINTED screaming “DADDY DADDY DADDY” and jumped into my arms. It was the best feeling ever to know that I was still loved and I was in tears.

My then wife and I divorced, and I have full legal & physical custody of my daughter. I’m a proud single dad.
