And Penn Badgley’s new Netflix show You drove fans wild after it was released on Wednesday, as they gushed about the ‘absolutely gripping’ show.

The drama follows Joe Goldberg, played by Penn, a stalker who uses social media to manipulate student Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) into falling in love with him.

Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the show, many recommended it to their followers even if they hadn’t finished the series yet.

One wrote: ‘YOU on Netflix is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Absolutely gripping and intense.’

While another user gushed: ‘If you guys haven’t been watching “YOU” on Netflix you missing out best show I’ve seen hands down (sic).’

Based on Caroline Kepnes’ bestselling novel, the series has already been renewed for a second season.

While talking with GMA’s Paula Faris, Penn talked about preparation tactics for his dark and twisted character.

‘I listen to Michael Jackson and Prince to prepare for any and everything,’ he said. ‘But I think some of our greatest pop songs are talking about a love that is maniacal and kind of obsessed.’

Badgley stars alongside John Stamos, Elizabeth Lail, and Shay Mitchell are in the upcoming crime-drama episodic.

‘Penn is a goof on set. We have a lot of fun,’ Mitchell told ET in an interview as she reflected on their time shooting in NYC.
