We responded to a trespassing call late this afternoon over in Stevenson Ranch. When we arrived at the location, we found a mother and her two children who were allegedly staying on the vacant property. We kindly explained to the woman that she couldn’t stay there on the property, but we wanted to let her know about help that is available- resources that can help children and their families with shelter, meals, and supportive services.
While we were there, the field sergeant showed up to check on things, and he overheard one of the kids say that they were hungry. As soon as he heard that, he offered a meal to the family. They were obliged and readily agreed. To that family out there, we sincerely hope the best for you and that you are able to get back on your feet. Help is a phone call away.
