Bride Buys 450 Wedding Guest Over $1,000 Worth Of McDonald’s Burgers

The dessert menu for a wedding day is normally made up of some special-occasion indulgent dishes planned carefully by bride and groom.

But not so for Sydney’s Nancy Mowad and her now-husband Andrew, who have a shared down-to-earth taste in the food they were more than happy to show their guests.

Celebrating the couple’s lavish wedding at Miramare Gardens on the Northern Beaches last Sunday, the Mowads took it upon themselves to order 300 cheeseburgers for their 450 guests after the fancier courses had been cleared away.

After getting engaged in February 2017, Nancy told FEMAIL they immediately started to plan the wedding and thought ‘what an awesome idea it would be to flood the dance floor with cheeseburgers at the end of the night.’

‘We dreamt about getting married at Miramare Gardens ever since we attended a close friend’s wedding a few years ago and it was the best decision we ever made.

‘All we wanted was for all our guests to have a great night and have non-stop dancing… and a little something extra at the end of the night.

‘We knew how much our guests would love it but never thought it would get this big. We are so glad that all our guests had a night to remember.’

Footage from inside the venue shows a very enthusiastic Nancy dancing happily in her chair, cheeseburger in hand, with a myriad of loved ones clapping around her.

But this was actually the second time in as many hours the young newlyweds had eaten from the popular golden arches takeaway store.

‘We actually had Maccas before the ceremony too,’ she said. ‘Lucky he loves Maccas as much as I do.’

The pair met by chance six years ago through a mutual friend.

‘Andrew is my best friend’s cousin and we were on our way out in the city one night when he needed a lift so he jumped in with us. We ended up dancing the whole night away,’ she said.

‘Funnily enough, we actually had McDonald’s as our first ever meal together once the night had ended.’
