Not everyone is a natural handyman; even with much practice, DIY construction is not a skill that can always be mastered. That’s why it’s such a thrill to find projects that can easily be accomplished, no matter your skill level … and have a few tricks up your sleeve.
That’s the idea that inspired Leah to start “See Jane Drill,” a resource center aimed at helping those unfamiliar with construction pick up the basics. She certainly has the experience to do it, too; she spent 20 years as a journeyman plasterer before becoming a trades teacher. Outside of “See Jane Drill,” Leah practices what she preaches, carrying out home renovation and woodworking projects in her spare time.
In this video, she demonstrates how a simple tape measure actually has several slightly lesser-known features that can make taking measurement much, much easier. I seriously had no idea about most of these tips!
