French Manicure Hack On Short Nails

The French manicure is making a comeback, and I’m here for it. The French manicure is still one of my favorite things to get when I’m out on the town. It always made me feel so elegant and sophisticated. It has been a long time since the finger-elongating style was cool. But, now I’m right behind it again.

Whether you’re looking to get your nails done or just want some inspiration, look no further than TikTok. The most popular hack right now is one that will have you DIY-ing your nail style in no time.

The trick involves a nail stamper, a tool you can use with a scraper, and customized stamp designs on your nails with a steel plate. The French manicure hack is a creative and fun way to take your stamper game up a notch. Once the base coat is dry, you paint a line of polish directly onto the stamper which has a sticky, convex, and silicone surface. Next, you dip your finger into the still-wet line of polish but only deep enough to create French tips that are just right for your desired thickness. When you’re done, just brush on some acetone to clean up any mistakes and finish with a topcoat for that sleek look.

I was eager to give this hack a try, but also skeptical that I would be able to pull it off. The last time I tried to DIY a French manicure, it turned out poorly. My skills have improved since then but still not enough for me to call myself an expert at this art form. When I was younger, there were always variations of the French manicure. One thing that seemed to be a constant is stickers. Peeling off the stick-on strips that functioned as stencils, I saw an unsystematic mess of seeping colors. It is so freehanded it looks like a toddler did it.

The nail stamper French manicure hack was way easier to pull off than I expected. The hardest part for me was cleaning up. When I applied the polish color on my first attempt, it seemed like blood was coming off of the brush onto my skin. I did some research online and therefore concluded that it is important to always wipe your brush with a towel so that you don’t spread any of the polish onto your skin. It did help, but you can also experiment with painting on a liquid latex barrier beforehand to help prevent any unwanted marks from ruining your masterpiece.

The process to get a French manicure is something that I’ve never managed before, but with practice hopefully, it will become easier and better. I love that I don’t have to waste stickers by positioning them just right on my nails. With the nail stamper, you can use it over and over again.
